Budget Plan

This Excel spreadsheet presents a budget plan for the production and filming of a film including what the budget will be spent on in the 'real' world of professionals and how much I personally will spend on making my own film. A budget plan is used by film producers or makers as a plan on how they are going to distribute their money that they have been given from their personal source of financing. It is a way to plan what they are going to spend their money on and ensure that each element of the production process has enough budgeting and that no money it wasted. A budget plan is also made so that a film maker doesn't go over budget and spend too much money, some film makers do not plan their budget effectively and end up going majorly over budget or not having enough money for a certain element of pre-production - that is why a budget plan is very important. I have completed this documentation in Excel because it is an easy method of displaying a large set of data all in one place and in an organized manner that makes sense so that no money is wasted or spent on the wrong things, leaving not enough money for the important factors of producing a film. This is useful to help me understand what and who is involved in the real and true production process and how much they normally cost. Also, it helps me to understand what the priorities are within the budget which is the over the line cost. My budget is not as high as a 'real' world film's budget would be because I am only a student and I don't need to pay for equipment as I can borrow school's, I do not have to pay for locations as they are public areas/ my own homes and or school will let me use a classroom for my locations. Also, I do not have to pay for actors as transport as I will have volunteers who will make their own way to my locations. But I do have to pay for some things. My budget plan is very professional and resembles the industry standard and professional models of practice because it includes all elements of the pre-production or production process that would include a budget and displays all the necessary information in a detailed way. I also have included the total cost of all the thing I will spend my budget on and if there is any budget leftover.

Production Log

Production Log This document shows evidence that I have completed a production log. This log is similar to a diary in by how I write in at different stages of my coursework.  I have completed a production log because it is a easy and simple way to keep track on my progress so far.  It is especially useful to monitor my progress. This is because I can read my production log at any stage in my coursework and make sure that I am staying productive with my time and not falling behind schedule. World War Z Case Study This case study shows the entire pre production process when making a film, the pre-production process is very important whilst making a film and failure to plan a film successfully can delay the release of a film hugely and could waste a lot of money and resources.
