Location Recce - First Choice House

Location Recce - First Choice House

This documentation is evidence of a location recce for a house. A location recce is essentially an evaluation of a possible location option and is completed during the location scouting process. It evaluates what the location would be used for and if it is suitable for filming. This evaluation is based on its availability, access to toilets/ catering/ parking/ electricity and what hazards that are there. Moreover, most film producers include a picture of the location within the recce so it is easier to understand what the location looks like whilst comparing location recces. Most of the time a location recce is completed by someone going to the location site and evaluating its suitability and health and safety issues, they then decide if they want to film in that location. I have completed my location recce in a table because it is efficient and easy to read. It displays all information needed in an organised and simple way. An organised and simple location recce will make the preproduction process and location scouting process much easier when evaluating the suitability of a location. A location recce impacts my final production because it helps me to decide if a location is suitable for all the necessary needs. My final production could be very different depending on the locations that I choose to film in. A location can affect the mise-en-scene, the filming process and the overall look of the scenes filmed in those locations. If I do not complete a location recce and randomly choose a location that I think looks good then the filming process could be difficult. This is because The filming process may arrive and when I get the the location I could realize that there is no food available nearby or there are no toilets available nearby, I may also realize that the location is very hazardous. Next, I may have to complete the whole location scouting process again which could delay the release of my film. A good location can make the filming process much easier. My location recce is professional and industry standard, it includes all of the important information that I need to know about a location as a film producer and all is displayed in an efficient way.
